The midwest is exactly the way it was when I left it, and Melissa is silly and fun as ever. Cornell has changed a bit, which I found a bit disconcerting, but hey, I'll live. Homecoming day was filled with (now) comic mishaps, and the trip back to Kansas City was made in record time despite 3 stops and a massive storm in the middle.
But before all that, after the first day Melissa left me home while she was at work, I announced that we should hike the Appalachian trail next summer. She said that sounded cool, so just like that, it was a plan. We're not going to do the whole thing, or even most of the whole thing because no one involved can take enough time off work (5-7 months for all 2,000+ miles) so we're just going to do a week or two. I think that hiking across the New Hampshire/Vermont section would be nifty around June or July-ish.
In other news, my hair is black.
