Hi there everybody.

So... I live in Oregon now, did I mention that? Yep.
I'm working in Portland at an insurance agency. We mostly sell insurance to companies and rich people. I answer the phones, fax things, do random stuff, and get paid a decent wage to do it. I even have benefits and free parking now.
If anyone was worried that I may have died or had children, fear not. I just don't have internet access at home, and I'm scetchy about using the internet at work. In fact, the only reason I'm updating now is because everyone else is either on vacation or at lunch so I'm free to surf about unrestrained. I found your "happily childfree" site, Phoena, good job! It's what reminded me that I might want to come around here and touch base with everyone. It's also distracting me from my exciting data-entry project, which is always a blessing.

Sorry I'm so out of touch, but things happen. Things like moving into the sticks where there's no reliable 'net connection.

At least I have netflix to keep me company.

Catch you all later.

The bad news is, I don't have internet access. Oh well.

Lived through the 2 year mark with minimal angst. It doesn't hurt any less, but it's a familiar pain now. Speaking of which, my brother and I finally got the tattoo we've been meaning to get since Dad died. It looks pretty groovy. I am now afraid to ever close it again.

Today:
I was at work and the music playing was a happy-happy song that I like fairly well even though I've heard it 10 thousand times. I believe it's the song that 6 flags has as their theme... the one with the old guy who dances.
Anyhow, I'm quietly doing paperwork and the circuit is FULL of ladies. There were probably 3 spots left open.
SUDDENLY!!!
A lady SCREAMS from the middle of the circuit "HEY!! Turn on some REAL music!!!!"

3 things.
1) Just because you don't like it doesn't make it fake music.
2) How do you know everyone else isn't enjoying the hell out of it?
3) Shut the fuck up.

So, I turned on some craptacular Cher remixes. For example, not liking kittens would be a guilty displeasure.
So, on Friday I went to the homecoming football game with some amigos (my first since I was in high school myself) which led me to some alarming questions and conclusions.
My questions are:
When did 10 year olds start playing high school football?
Why wasn't our team that good when I was attending?
Do super-low-cut pants look good on anybody?

Conclusions:
I am so glad I am not 16 anymore.
GOD I'M OLD.

Actually I am feeling quite content now. After all, I live in my own house and make my own coffee now, plus I no longer have urges to do strange things to my clothes and hair just to be "different." Not to mention the whole "I can go to a bar if I want to" thing... Yes, despite occasional fits of nostalgia, in the battle between 16 and 26, I'd have to say 26 wins out.
